The Black Watch was raised in 1739 as the 43rd Highland Regiment, in 1751 the 42nd was raised, and in 1881 both Regiments became the 1st and 2nd battalions of the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). Military uniform prints available from Cranston Fine Arts.
